This is a two-tone dress watch. I just love the color combination of this watch. Black and Gold go really well together.
While this is a dress watch, I think it pairs well with casual outfits. In fact, I’ve even worn this to the gym a few times.
Here is my Seiko SKA366 Review…
Seiko SKA366: The Basics:
The Seiko SKA366 is a beautifully crafted men’s dress watch. This watch is only available in one color (black/gold).
There are shiny gold-tone stripes on bracelet, semi-circle on inner dial, and exhibition case back. The gold is fairly shiny and I’ve had the watch for over a year and haven’t noticed the shininess diminish.
Some people have complained about the gold fading away or scratching. Unless you’re wearing this to the gym every single day, I doubt that will be the case.
Here are the specs on the Seiko SKA366:
- Case diameter: 39.5 mm
- Case thickness: 11.2 mm
- Band width: 20.5 mm
- Band material: Stainless Steel
- Movement: Japanese Quartz
- Water resistance: 330 feet (100 meters)
My Experience With The Seiko SKA366
I got the Seiko SKA366 because I wanted to upgrade my watch collection. And I wanted a watch that would look great in a suit.
The Seiko SKA366 definitely fits that bill!
Here are my favorite things about the Seiko SKA366:
1. Beautiful gold and black colors:
I think my favorite thing about this watch is the color scheme. I just love how black and gold look together. Plus, I love how there are two lines of gold that run through the band of the watch.
The gold on the dial and on the face of the watch are both very classy.
The pictures you see on this post or on Amazon don’t do this justice. The gold is actually fairly bright and shiny (not to the point where it’s too flashy).
2. This is a kinetic watch
The Seiko SKA366 is a kinetic watch. This is actually my first watch of that type.
A kinetic watch means it is powered by the movement of your hand! That’s right! You no longer have to deal with those pesky little batteries!
Just one day of full wear should be enough to power this watch for a few months (yes, I’m not kidding!).
When you move your wrist, the kinetic energy is stored inside the watch’s quartz crystal, which is what powers it. I think it’s a really neat feature and it’s a good icebreaker if you don’t have anything to talk about!
Here are some things I don’t like about the Seiko SKA366:
1. You can hear the charging of the watch:
One thing I don’t like about the Seiko SKA366 is that you can hear the charging of the watch in a quiet room.
When you move your wrist, you can hear the winding/grinding of the movements inside. Granted, you have to be in a pretty quiet environment, but it’s still noticeable.
For me that’s not exactly a deal breaker, but just something to keep in mind.
2. The luminescent hands don’t work that well:
The watch has luminescent minute and hour hands. However, they aren’t very bright in the dark. In fact, I actually can’t use them to tell time when it’s really dark.
If they fixed this issue, I think this watch would be nearly perfect!
Who Is The Seiko SKA366 For?
The Seiko SKA366 is a dress watch, so obviously it pairs well with a suite and tie. However, I think it also works in a business casual environment.
If you want to look more confident and successful in the office, I would highly suggest getting this watch.
I also think this is a good gym watch. I actually wear mine to the gym all the time and have gotten tons of compliments on it.
Plus, I like to use it on the treadmill to keep the kinetic watch powered!
Final Verdict On The Seiko SKA366
Overall, this is a really classy watch for the price point. The watch is elegant, well designed, and extremely colorful.
If you want to look more successful, get this watch and upgrade your wardrobe.
I’ve had my Seiko SKA366 for over a year now and I love it. I fit it into my regular rotation of watches all the time.
